Alexander Lloyd 1 in 6 people on the planet live without access to safe, clean drinking water. 4,500 children die each day from water-related illnesses. Alexander Lloyd is partnering with charity: water to build a freshwater well for a community in Africa. In lieu of gifts, Alex is asking that his guests donate towards a freshwater well instead. 100% of the money will go directly to projects on the ground, and charity: water will prove each built using GPS coordinates in Google Earth. * * * Wells transform communities. After a well is installed, charity: water partners will work directly with villagers, teaching them how to maintain and fix their well and hand pump device, while also conducting basic hygiene and sanitati on classes. |
