Piggy Bank Distribution for Clean Water

A CALL TO ACTION
We are asking our friends and their friends to accept a piggy bank (we ship for free) and fill it up at least once a year to reach our group goal.  Our goal is to raise $3,000 by February 28, which is enough to build one well / water system in Liberia.  What an awesome privilege.

Piggy banks are an easy way to put money aside daily while considering others that are less fortunate and doing something about it.  Some of our friends may just donate large sums of money to the cause which is also appreciated and rewarding.  Remember, your charitable gifts / donations are a tax write-off also. Before going any further, we feel it is important for you to get the vision in your heart...so please take 4 minutes out of your busy day to watch this video.  The founder Scott Harrison tells his inspiring story of the charity: water initiative.
THIS IS SHOCKING!
80% of all diseases in Africa are due to a lack of clean, safe drinking water and basic sanitation.  45,000 people will die this week because of unsafe water, and 90% of them will be children under 5 years old.  100% of all funds (every penny) we raise will go towards the construction of one complete new water system in Liberia where fresh water is desperately needed now.

GET YOUR FRIENDS INVOLVED
If you know anyone who might be interested in helping us reach our goal, please send them a link to this page along with our email address : rswodeck@gmail.com and have them request a free piggy bank to start collecting.

Thank you so much for your overwhelming enthusiasm and support thus far.  So many of you have already filled at least one piggy bank.  So start counting your coins and deposit the amounts on this site so we can track our progress and goal status.  Keep your piggy banks for next year when we will be raising money for at least one more well / water system in Africa in 2008.  Let's keep making a difference!

why $20?

A freshwater well costs $3,500-$10,000 and can serve an average of 500 people with clean water for 20 years. So, for $20, one person in Africa is provided with clean water.

what happens next?

After a well is installed, charity: water partners work directly with villagers, teaching them how to maintain and fix their well and hand pump device, while also conducting basic hygiene and sanitati on classes. learn more >
