Valentine's Day is an expensive holiday, with most people spending more than $120 on their loved one. Chocolates, flowers, jewelry, lingerie and teddy bears fly off shelves. Restaurants turn down the lights and serve late. Singles pout and watch reruns of LOST or 24 with bags of Fritos and Ice Cream.

Because a billion people on the planet don't have clean, safe water to drink.
